![]() ![]() It looks to me like they're a couple of people who found a way to benefit from each others strengths even though they both had huge weaknesses. They were doing their act for a living because it was a living, I'm not sure why it would have to be any more complicated than that. If that's what you expected from this movie then your expectations were way off. They only have so much time to say what they want to say and that's the whole point of short stories. Personally I prefer having to come to that conclusion (and others coming to their own) than having it spelled out to me by the show.īro, you're not going to get too deep in a collection of short stories. No reason to chat with a chicken before you kill it. So we only see the part where the amputee is no better than the chicken in the eyes of the impresario and the amputee knows it. What could the amputee do? Refuse to perform? Find someone else in that time that would have been willing to take care of him without demanding performances like the impresario? ![]() And the amputee realized he had no choice or voice in the partnership because it wasn't a partnership. ![]() The degrading acts had already happened by the time we join they probably already had the argument. He was just a chicken that he had to feed by hand, clean, and help to the bathroom. If he ever cared about him he didn't anymore. They didn't talk to each other (except when the impresario was drunk and going into town) because the amputee was nothing but an object to him a way to make money. ![]()
